I purchased 7 Tiger Barbs about a month ago for my 30 gal. and after about the third week they started to die off one by one. I have 2 left now. They started to float upside down for a while, then die. All my other fish are fine and I tested my water, which is fine. Has anyone else had this experience with this problem. They were all fairly young, about 1" long. It's very frustrating.

Thanks.

As carnise mentioned tiger barbs are very sensitive to Nitrite and will quickly be overcome by its effects if not acted upon. Have you noticed them hanging in the water with there heads pointing down?...I'd increase the amount of water changes you do until you can lower your nitrite level...what are the other readings from your water?

Thanks for the replies. My ammonia and nitrite are 0 and nitrate 40 ppm I did notice them with their heads down, at times, but I didn't know that the nitrate was too high for them. I should of done my research. :/
