thinking of a betta

i was thinking of adding a betta to my 20 gal tank. (look below) would he be ok in there with the other fish?
there are a decent amout of plants and soon more.
the ph is 7.0
water is very hard, 12
nitrate is 0
didnt get nitrite test kit

I think I heard that danios and bettas don't get along too well. I could be wrong, and I'd better let one of the more expirenced people handle that. But in general, I don't think bettas work well in community tanks.

Definitely not with the Gouramis. They'd fight too much.

Honey gouramis won't bother a betta, as they are small and peaceful, I would worry about the danios

Honey Gouramis won't? I'm more on the err on the side of caution with Gourami and Betta mixing. I don't think size matters so much as aggression.

My honeys don't bother anybody, they will put their feelers into other fishes faces and generally annoy them but they aren't aggresive

Dwarfs is right.
The danios will nip the betta's fins.

I guess you lucked out on yours then. I've only recently started keeping 3 Spots and found my Gold (supposedly the meanest) to be among my tamest and my Blue is equally tame. The supposedly calm Opaline had an attitude problem though so I had to rearrange the tank on them and put them in at once.
