The Best Way To Transfer A Fish To Another Tank

well today i bought a shoal of 5 rummynose tetras. i wanted to add the 1 from my ten gallon into the 20 gal with them. Should i net him out and put him in the tank, or catch him with a cup and float the cup?? anything would help.

He should probably be acclimitized to the 20 gallons water because its probably not exactly the same as the 10 gallons water. If you ever want to move the group or him to another 10 or 15 gallon tank in the future I would fill up the smaller tank with the water from the 20 gallon and that would probably be one of the only appropriate times to net a fish and put them in a different tank without acclimitising. cool that helped i think if i can get him out hes really fast and its damn hard i will use the bag from the lfs and float that.
