I have 2 swordtails in my planted tank, both female. Unfortunately they seem to have taken an exception to the hemianthus callitrachoides that has formed a carpet on the aquarium bottom. They have since ripped up the entire planted carpet and it is now floating around the tank causing havoc to the filters. is this normal behaviour? do they usually pull out plants?
any help would be greatly appreciated because they seem to be systematically pulling up all my beautiful plants I spent a good 6 months aquascaping!
thankyou

Welcome to the forum Holz88.
I have never seen a swordtail uproot a plant. They do pick at plants while eating micro-organisms and algae that grow on the plants.
