I have an attack of Brown Algae in my newly setup 15 gal, it looks like hair but its brown. I know this is common in a new setup but will it go away? [wishful thinking]

Is there anything I can do?

15 Gal
3.2/6.4 wpg
EI dosing.

Jake.

1 - ditch the concept of 6.4 watts per gallon
2 - If possible ditch the concept of 3.2 watts per gallon
3 - Aim for 2 - 2.5 watts per gallon
4 - Add a few otocinclus which should love the algae for dinner :)

I'm also assuming you have CO2 in there at 30ppm aswell, alongside lots and lots of plants?

3.2 is the minimum I can run, which is what im using. Yes I have a D-D Co2 system and heavily planted.

Dont have any Ottos so will get some asap. Surely people run more than 2/2.5wpg without problem?

They do, but the higher you go the less forgiving the tank will be in respect of opportunity for algae to take hold.

What lighting do you have?
