Morning guys,

I've been out of the hobby for a while now but I'm looking at getting a small tank for my living room - a Juwel Primo 70.

I'm planning on putting it on a solid oak sideboard, I've measured it and it will fit, however on the top of the sideboard there is edges which are slightly lower (by a matter of mm's). I'm worried that the pressure on these lower parts may cause it to crack?

Am I right in thinking that the Juwel fish tanks have a "safety base" for lack of a better word? I was hoping that this might make it ok. We've all heard the horror stories about tanks cracking so I wanted to see what you guys' thoughts were?

Thanks in advance.

Tim.

Looking at Juwel's website the Primo range, like their other ranges, does seem to be a floating base tank. But if you download the manual, it says "The position selected should have an even and level surface". Even though the base glass is not in direct contact with the sideboard, the entire rim should be in contact with no gaps.

Interesting. Would a bit of wood between the sideboard and the tank be a good idea then?
