Hi
I'm really upset, I've just found my beautiful spotted raphael catfish dead at the bottom of the tank. I had had a problem with some of my female swordfish, one was emaciated and we lost one to dropsy, also spotted white string poo.

So decided to dose tank with Interpet 9 - anit internal bacteria. I let my husband read the pack and he didn't notice it said " do not use with Mormyrids". I presume that my catfish was a Mormyrid. I am now worried about my corries, are these also Mormyrids? :/

Thanks.

Sure it was dropsy and not bloating due to internal parasites, as I think with one being thin and fish pooing long stringy white poo that they have internal parasites.

My understanding is that those cautions refer to fish such as Black Ghost Knife, Elephant Nose Fish, and Clown Knife etc, basically fish that emit small electrical fields.

The Raphael is a member of the Doradidae family, so AFAIK should not be affected.
