Sponge Filters

Hey,
I am not exactly a beginner though i have never used sponge filters before. I am going to set up a little WCM or danio cold water tank though do not have any spare plug sockets. However, I do have an air pump with four outlets with only one being used for my tropical tank. S o my question is how do spong flters work work? Do they just need an air pump to power them or do they need an extra plug. What i mean is do they just slot into the tubing form the pump and hey presto they work or is it more complicated than that.

No plugs required. Just conect one peice of the tubing to the air pump and the other to the sponge filter and job done
