"special Needs" Adoption

Here's the deal... I've got three little ones from the Mini spawn that are "special" and require a little extra care and attention, so I'm hoping you kind people might want to give them a loving home. All I ask is that you pay shipping; $5 for Priority or $20 for Express (prices up a dollar or two because I can't always get my boxes free anymore).

First is a little blue-grey male with buoyancy issues. His tummy always looks swollen because apparently he's gulping air into his stomach rather than his labyrinth sometimes. He's better some days than others, and most of the time it doesn't seem to bother him much, but on the days when it's really bad you'll have to watch to make sure he's eating his food before it drops to the bottom where he can't reach it.

This little fella has the same problem and is kinda runty, probably because he can't always reach the food that falls to the bottom. He wouldn't hold still long enough for me to take a good pic, but he's basically skin-tone with iridescence.

This young lady has one blind eye, and is almost always sitting around on the bottom because of it. She can't be kept with other females unless you're willing to hand feed her every day like I do, since the others always beat her to the food. Her spine may also be a little crooked from sitting on the bottom all the time, but it's hard to tell for sure. I know she's not much to look at, but she's a real sweetheart

They look so adorable! I love special bettas - although I can't have any of yours because of my location. I do hope they find nice homes! Keep us updated!

O_O Oh my god. I am in love with that blind eyed female! And I have two empty tanks! And I allready hand-feed all of my bettas one pellet at a time, so she wouldn't have to worry about having trouble finding it. + She'd be kept alone, I'm only allowed to have 5 gallon tanks up at school, so no sorority.

Would shipping be too much stress on her though? I live all the way in PA, and while I'd gladly pay that much in shipping to express her (thats overnight, right?), I don't want to subject her to it if it'll just kill her. It has also been getting cold at night - 40's or so.

I'm sure she'd be able to handle shipping. She's healthy and everything, just "special". Express is overnight in most places, and guaranteed to be 2 day at the most. Let me know, I'd love for you to have her if you have room

Well, let me talk to my school and see what thier policy is about having live animals shipped. If she was sent out on a monday, I have tues. and wed. off, so I could stay home all day and await her arrival so she wouldn't end up sitting for too long. I'd really love to have her, and I'll be re-doing my tank arrangements tonight, so I should know once I'm done if I'll have room. She might have to spend some time in a 2.5 until I move back home, but I'm sure she wouldn't mind; she looks pretty little.

Question though - how on earth do I pay you should I be able to get her? I don't particularly have paypal, though I really should just bite the bullet and sign up for it since I order things offline pretty regularly.

Hmmm.... I'm so wanting that first male, but I can't decide........trying to decide because the next betta I get will eventually inheirit Poe's old 20G and I kind of want to get a load of Females.....urg...so torn. What's his age? Do you think he'd do good with any tankmates? There're are already 3 otos in the 20G. I think I might just go for it since I really wanted a special betta to "replace" Poseidon and I seems impossible, but this little one looks so sweet he might just do the trick.

btw, do you still have any other fry left from the Mini spawn?

yay! do you need any shipping materials? how cold is it where you are? it drops to 50 or so at night here...starting to get pretty chilly. i can send you a styrofoam lined box and heating pack if you need it.

i just love the 7 girls and 1 boy that i already have, btw. thanks for such wonderful fish! they're hands down the healthiest, friskiest, and most gorgeous fish i've gotten from anyone in the US. all of them have grown considerably and the girls seem to be egging up nicely. the male is always wiggling at me whenever i go near his tank i'll probably put my "special" boy by my bedside next to his brother so i can keep an eye on him

He's nearly 5 months old, but still small (like all the others...) I imagine he'd do alright with tankmates, he's one of the least aggressive of them all, and does well getting food for himself despite his handicap.
About the only fry I have left are ones I'm going to *try* to sell... we'll see how that goes

I have shipping materials, but if you want to go all out with styrofoam and a heat pack then I'm afraid you'll have to send it, since I can't get any of that without ordering it. I will be ordering some heat packs soon though, so if you want a wait a couple of weeks instead of sending me one we can do that, I'd be glad to hold the fish for you. It's still relatively warm where I am, in the 60's at night and high 70's-low 80's in the day.
I'm glad the ones I sent you are doing well, and thanks so much for the compliments on them ). I wonder if this boy will remember his siblings, hehe.

Oh, I can't resist, I'll take him if that is ok with you. I guess it'll have to be overnight, it's gettign too cold up here (in MI) for priority. If I really want to use the 20G for females I could always find some way to section off part of the tank for him of somthing or just give him somthing else. (**sigh** I'm gonna go broke off these betts ** How would you like to be paid? e-mail me at your convience at [email protected].

I sure hope the little guy can make it ok though transit.

EDIT: Me thinks me thought of a name too: Achilles, because it goes with my greek theme and his labrith is his achilles heel so to speak. I ordered some females from aquabid and I think I'll find some way to give him some of the tank too.

Ok; I shall definately be adopting our little girl (er, providing I'm still permitted to that is). However, it has been getting quite exceedingly cold at night up here - only around 40 - so could you perhaps hold her until you have the supplies for shipping in the cold? I know it will probably cost extra, but that is fine. I just don't want to risk her freezing in my attempt to offer her a home.
Once you have the total cost, please do PM/email me with how much it'll be and your adress, and I'll send it right down - probably in the form of cash or cheque, since I lack paypal. If it is possible to ship her out on a monday, that'd be ideal, as I'm off tues. and wed. and could await her arrival so she wouldn't have to sit any longer than needed.

Good I was thinking about taking them all. I cant stand for a fish to have special needs and I'm not around to care for it...You all are sweethearts for taking on the bettas. Snyirr if you have any more pm me I will see what I can do to help..
