When I began collecting papers on mirtification and the bacteria and then a jost of other topics relevant to the hobby, I was unable with some to copy and paste text. So I did screen shots and made .jpg files. I was looking though my pictures and came across some interesting stuff.
Here is one on the biofilm in which the nitrifying and other bacteria live and what functions it performs by using what parts of the EPS.
How about some infor on copper pipes and their potential to leach opper into the water:
How about how nitrite in a fish gets removed?
Thw above is why it is better to use chloride to block the nitrite from entering the fish than to just cut it in half by changing water. That means nitrite is still entering the fish. Plus the water change slows the process and the time it takes to establish the full numbers of needed nitrite oxidizing bacteria.
