Snails and Dwarf Puffers

Do dwarf puffers only eat when hungry or will they kill snails just for the hunt?

dwarf puffers will kill snails anytime for food, they eat any time there is food around them, I would recommend keeping these puffers in a species tank only.

I know that would be the plan. I was just wondering if They kill snails just for the hunt or always for food?

They can't help but peck at snails even when not hungry, a bit like domestic cats and birds it's instinct, they will seriously damage snails leading to death even if they don't eat them.
