Fish Fanatic
I recently received a gift of a brand new 20 gal with all the fixin's, so I figured I'd get some cichlids. I picked up three female Kenyi cichlids (that's what the store called them, but I'm not up with all the scientific names). They immediately established a pecking order from biggest to smallest. I figure I'd spread the aggression around so I picked up another one that happened to be smaller than all the rest. The biggest punks on the rest, the next biggest punks on the two smaller ones, and finally the third biggest punks on the smallest one. Feeling sorry for the small one, I set in a bunch of rocks to create tiny spaces for it to hide, and it soon began to excavate my substrate, pulling one tiny bit out at a time in its mouth until a small space large enough only for it was established. Now, it sits in there and enjoys all the others fighting it out. Smart fish!
