Small Snails! What Are They?

Hiya, I've had my tank up and running for 5 weeks now and this week I have noticed 2 small snail-like creatures! Does anyone know what these could be and where they came from? I'm probably being stupid but I thought I'd ask.....thanks 8)

Yes I think my girlfriend added a live plant, I'm not sure if she sterilised it. The plant was taken out about a week ago and only since then have I noticed the snails. 8)

Thats how snails get in the tank through plants they hitch a ride.
If you don't want the snails just remove them.

Probably not. But if there's more than one they'll overrun your tank. Snails are hermaphrodites (both male and female) so if you have two you have a breeding pair.

Thanks...... the fish in my avatar are called 'celestial pearl danios'. I really want some but I think they're a newly discovered fish. Their scientific name includes the word 'Galaxy' which is my nickname and my real name is Dan, which is also in their name...DANio. lol. Stupid reasons to want some but they are good looking fish u gotta say.lol. 8)
