Saltwater vs Freshwater?

How difficult would it be to go marine from a freshwater tank, what are the differences for a 54L tank?

You'd need a source of RO water, salt mix, live rock, probably a small protein skimmer, a lighting upgrade, if you wanted to try corals.

A 54l tank is very, very small for a marine set up; you would be very limited as to what you could stock; zoas and a single, small fish, would be about your only choices.
