I noticed that my pH has slowly been going back down to 7. I would like to use baking soda to raise up the pH to about 7.6-7.8. My question is as what rate and what amount do I need to add the baking soda to safely raise the pH? I have a 20 gallon tank and a 10 gallon tank that I want to raise the pH in.

are there fish in it? if so, have you researched the better alternative of crushed coral.

There are fish in each tank 13 in the 20 gal and 2 in the 10 gal. I somehow forgot about the crushed coral technique. Thank you!

There are some good articles somewhere around here on it, probably in the resource centre on the new freshwater tank section :good:
