What is normal? Nitrites should be 0 and nitrates should be around 0-20, and ammonia should be 0 as well.

I heard that those only eat algae when they're young. Is this true?

I also wanted to buy otos but theres no sign of them on aquabid :(

Your thinking of the chinese algae eater, and otos dont like hair algaes, an you should probably look into why your getting the algae in the first place, but im not sure why sorry. How big is your tank?

My tank is a 29 gallon stocked with 2 dwarf gouramis, 3 platys and like five, 4cm fry, and 8 dwarf corydoras. Also a amazon sword, java fern, java moss, a bunch of anacharis and this reddish purple plant.
