I'm thinking of ordering some plants from aquabid. I know you can dip in 1 pt bleach to 19 pts water (I actually diluted it 1-38 and it killed my soft leaved plant) but that you shouldn't dip the roots. Wouldn't the roots also have any bad stuff that the plants might have? I'm talking about stuff that isn't visible like parasites and such. What good does it do to dip everything but the roots? To get most of the junk off?
I'm thinking to quarantine a plant wouldn't do much good since anything on it (other than snails, etc) wouldn't be evident in that case anyway.
Is there another dip that won't hurt the roots? If so where can I get some? thanks!
