i have tried unsucessfully a few times to hatch out some cory eggs, except this time im using a breeders net in my tank. it has been about four days now and i noticed today the eggs definately look bigger and some you can see something in them. but they are still that opaque white color. i thought they were suppose to turn a tan color when maturing. any ideas?

Hi tylixxa :)

You should probably start seeing your eggs hatch today, if they are still viable. They do usually darken, but the color they turn depends on the fish. For example, my panda eggs turn a very dark and IMHO nasty looking color, but my C. aeneus eggs just darken slightly. The important thing is that they remain firm.

If they are not viable, they will turn white and take on a fuzzy look. Then if you take one between your fingers it will smush into nothing.

Moving eggs is always a risky thing to do and you should not be surprised to lose some because of it.

Good luck and I hope to hear from you with good news soon. :D
