Any experience with this majestic fish? My pair, a 5" male and a 3.5" female spawned for the first time last week. Eggs were gone within 2 days, other fish, inexperience or just nerves? Who knows? I just love watching them both. If anyone ever toyed with the idea of keeping them, GO FOR IT! You will not be disappointed. These fish are increasingly scarce in their natural habitat but captive bred F1 youngsters are becoming available.
Use subdued lighting, plenty of livefood and, if possible, a dark substrate. This will bring out their markings a treat! And, like Victorian Haps, you can do your bit to keep these fish with us!!! :) :alien: :sly:

Not yet, waiting for lighting stand that we lent out to client @ work. Watch this space though! :alien:

They have pics. @ The Cichlid Room, a site run by Miguel Arcas Dias (I think thats how you spell his name). Also a coupla good articles there by Sonia Guinane and Paul V. Loiselle. on said fish!
