I've noticed some odd behaviour in my neons lately. Every once in a while, they'll start swimming around with their heads pointed slightly downward. It happens randomly, for not apparent reason, but then is gone again the next day. And they all do it at the same time. Its happened a couple of times after feedings and water changes, so I'm wondering if its a reaction to stress, and perhaps to overfeeding? I've tried to be very careful about feeding, giving no more than they eat in a couple of minutes. But mebbe I should cut back further? Suggestions appreciated.

Phew, thats all right then ^^ I was worried there for a while.

It is not uncommon for Neons, and some other fish, to pig out on flake foods which are dry. They then get more buoyant then normal and assume a head down jerky swimming action to stop from floating to the surface - if that describes what you are seeing, try soaking th eflake for a while before feeding.

Alternatively, the slightly head down, relaxed pose is quite normal.

Thanks for the info, Lateral line. I'll soak their food a bit, since this behaviour has happened a couple of times after feeding.
