Yeah. Put the new one in a baggie and set it in the tank, hoping they would not fight (as I have been told emerald males are peaceful with other males). Not happening. Very aggressive. Makes me wonder if they’re actually Emeralds or something else. I’ll get photos up soon and hopefully I can have these identified.

you keep mentioning "emeralds", are they imbellis by any chance?
if so, they will fight each other just like every other betta out there.

No they're smaragdina.

A book I read said imbellis was supposed to be peaceful with both genders too. ~_-
