Newbie to fishkeeping and the forum!

Hello all! Just wanted to say hi to you all and introduce myself. For those interested I'm 23 and live in the UK. I've wanted fish for years but didn't really have the space or money when I lived with my mum. Now I have my own flat and my oh so wonderful boyfriend has relented and offered to buy me all I need to get started with a tropical fish tank. I'm so excited and have been researching since he told me on boxing day! I'm sure I will be bothering you all with questions soon enough but for now I am reading my way throught the beginners forum.

no I haven't gotten the tank or the fish yet. The boyfriend is getting the tank on friday and then I'm going to set it up for a fishless cycle before I get any fish. I have an idea of what I want but am still researching at the moment.
