New tank question involving ice cubes

Hi, Im just about ready to put a few guppies is my tank for cycling but it is at 82degrees F and was wondering if it is ok to put a few ice cubes in the tank to lower the temp?

Yes, if you make the cubes from conditioned water or tank water, or put the cubes in a watertight bag.

Don't put too many in at once either, you don't want a temperature crash!

I think the temp will be okay mine has been like 80 for a few days when it gets hot and i have guppys

Just lower it over a period of about a week so as not tot stress them
