I dont know if its a male or female but it is ded fat mid body then slim at the tail he/she keeps opening and closing his/her mouth fast if you know anything info will be appriciated.

sounds more likely to be dropsy.

Same as paul has asked are the scales sticking out like a pinecone, try a shelled pea they need a good diet of veg and frozen foods as well, or they are prone to swim bladder,dropsy and constipation.
