Ā
Just wait 'till my discus find out...

oh wow ... those Discus are gonna love it! Welcome to the easy life lol

You might want to check out the tape water specks for your new utility. Ā How soft is shoft. Ā What elements are in the water Arsinic, lead, uranium? Ā Even though the water may be soft it still might have things in the water you and your fish might not want. Ā If that is the case, keep the RO unit.

Soft is 2.24 german degrees
Ā
Lead is 0.23 ppm.
No arsenic or (lol) uranium.
Cadmium, chromium and antimony are measured in the ppb and completely irrelevant.
The water conditioner I use for the chlorine will chelate such low doses of metal.
Ā
Nitrate 2.05 ppt, which is not exactly good, but hardly something to complain about
Nitrite < 4 ppm which is two orders of magnitude lower than any aquarium test would even be able to detect, let alone measure
No detectable phosphates.
