"moss Balls"

What exactly are "moss balls"? (There's tons of jokes in there, I know, I know...)

Can I make them myself with java moss?

They are not made of Java moss. Infact, they are made of a type of algae (Cladophora aegagrophila). Pretty tough and easy to keep
