MORAY EEL

i often see my moray eel (13-14 inches long) leaning its head on the sand sideways..im pretty confused..is it sick or do they sleep like that? and i've seen my eel breathing but very often would one gill/hole open up to release the outgoing water..and it would breath out of one side of the gills..are they usually like that? or should i get them checked on?

It is normal moray behavior.
