USA,
when I was at my LFS getting sand the other day I saw a little minnow swimming around in a plant holder. There was no filter or anything. Can minnows really live in non filtered/aerated water? What about the rosey red minnows?

There is normally a system filter filtering the plants tanks. How big was the tank? Minnows do live in slow/still waters in the wild but I it is always recommended that you keep them in well circulated, well oxygenated waters like the majority of wild specimens are. :)

I think it was like four gallons maybe. So they wouldnt do good ha, in non circulating water. Darn.

our local garden centre had put fish in some of the plant stands outsid, i think to try to get rid of algae

Even though my LFS has area in the garden centre they hadn't asked the guy in there first what to do
