OK, just a quick Q regarding Betta/Mela/PondFix. On the bottles of Betta and Mela Fix, it says the active ingredient is cajeput oil. Is that just a fancy/another name for malaleuca or tea tree oil? Just curious. I've been treating it as one and the same. Good stuff, BTW...

Here is the link to a thread from a few weeks ago with a complete explanation what Bettafix, Melafix and Pondfix are. Basically, they are the same thing just in different strengths.

I know, I know, I know!!! :p
In fact I have that post stuck on my fridge door......

My question was, does
Cajeput Oil == Melaleuca == Tea Tree Oil ????

I know that the latter two are the same, but is Cajeput Oil just another name for Melaleuca/Tea Tree Oil?

Anyone? Sarahbravo?

I looked up the latin for tea tree oil and got this: melaleuca alternifolia and then I looked up cajeput oil and got this: Melaleuca leucodendra . I presume they're from the same family, just slightly different.
