Mealworms?

My Dempsey, Acaras and friends are large enough to start feeding small mealworms how do I prepare them? Do I just grab 'em and drop 'em in sawdust and all, wash them, suggestions please. Also I understand smaller fish can partake as well as land they are cut up small enough, any prep's needed before I break out the scapel?

ive heard that you have to cut their head off or something like that because they might eat through your fish's stomach, and you dont want that

My Silver Arowana takes the whole mealworm without preperation, live mealworms, it seems to be doing fine
