I'm looking to set up a a10-gallon tank with a mating pair of fish and I've heard that Dwarf Gouramies are nice. But some of the sites I've read say that you have to remove the female after spawning and that would be a problem.

Does anyone know of any medium-sized fish that would do well as a breeding pair in a 10-gallon aquarium that they would have all to themselves? Thanks!

Wow, I've never ever heard of Peacock gudgeons before. Thanks for the tip, I'll go and research them!!

you dont "have" to remove the female after spawning, if you provide plenty of plant cover/hiding space, she should be fine

have you thought about any of the dwarf cichlids, many of them are suitable for community and often breed unexpectedly in community set ups
