For a few weeks now, one of my boys has had what I can only describe as an air bubble on his tail and I was told it’s nothing to worry about, but I came down this morning and it’s more than quadrupled in size!

He’s actively swimming and feeding, so it doesn’t seem to be bothering him at all. But what on earth is it?!

- Tank is heated to 28C
- pH is 7
- Ammonia is 0
- Nitrite is 0
- KH is 3
- GH is 5

Tank is 1 year old, so fully cycled (it’s a divided tank with 2 other boys in). 50% weekly water changes, treated with Tetra Aquasafe (new water is treated before going in the tank). Alder cones added for tannins.

It looks like he has a tumor, or a not so sever ucler. You could treat with Kanaplex, just in case its an ucler, but as long as he's acting fine and the growth is not gettig bigger, I'd let him be, do 50% water changes twice a week and keep a close eye on him. He's beautiful colors, btw!
