hey all,

i have a question about my alternanthera reineckii "roseafolia", the leaf edges have cupped themselves, the edges curled down ... is this in response some kind of condition in the tank?

i trimmed back my fast growers to ensure it gets enough light.

Leaf curling is usually associated with a calcium deficiency but TBH this is pretty rare, unless your water is very soft, as GH is normally made up of calcium. I found exactly the same problem with my rotala macrandra and tracked it down to a magnesium deficiency. Adding a bit of magnesium sulphate (epsom salts) cured the problem. Check your water to see how much calcium and magnesium you have. Local water authority should be able to help you out here.

CO2 and then you might try some MgSO4, epsom salt.
Add about 1/4 teaspoon per 80 liters 2x a week.

Regards,
Tom Barr
