Right i have a 10g tank that has almost finished cycling!

and i am going to have a community tank but i want to have a
Pelvicachromis pulcher - Krib
Can i keep just one? or do they have to be kept in pairs? Also would they fight with any of the fish below:
- Clown Loach
- Platys
- Mollys
- silver tipped tetras

Thanks for your help!

Kribs are actually African cichlids, so this is in the wrong section.

I wouldn't put anything with kribs in a 10gal. They're quite aggressive and in a tank that small it'll just be worse. In fact, I wouldn't even put kribs in a 10gal at all. In my opinion a good size for a pair is 20 gal, for then you can keep them with other fish as well. As far as I know, they can be kept on their own, but I've never tried that myself.

Of the other fish on your list, only platies and silvertipped tetras would fit in a 10 gal. The others just get too big for it. Platies should be fine with kribs, as they mostly keep to the surface and the kribs to the middle and bottom layer. Don't know about the tetras, but I would avoid small fish like that with kribs in any case.

But as I said, keeping a krib with other fish in only a 10 gal is a bad idea. If you want a community tank in the 10 gal you had better look for something else.
