Keeping live plants potted?

Update - I followed advice given. The plants look much more appealing now with stones in addition to all the sponge and packing around it. Lots of hard work to separate them though without breaking the roots but well worth it. Thank you all for the help :)

If you have plants that are hard to keep in substrate you can also Super Glue them to a small stone and bury them. I have to do that in my goldfish tanks to keep them from digging them up.

Many thanks for this information. This sounds like quite a handy technique. I may try it one day. I never knew superglue was fish safe. Thank you.

Super Glue dries quickly and once it has set (after a couple of minutes) it is safe for fish.

We used it to glue coral fragments to bits of limestone rock, and it held the coral in place while the coral grew onto the rock.
