Is dropsy contagious??

It looks as though my female betta has dropsy I want to make sure that my other fish won't "catch" it from her. I know that there are other reasons for dropsy to occur, but if it was an infection will it spread?? I know that it's probably a stupid question, but I need to make sure.

my understanding is that it can be contagious, which seems counterintuitive because it's really an internal infection, not something you would think would be transferred through the water etc. But anyway, yeah i'd definately quarantine it.

Thanks for that link kaley822, as sad as it was. I have seperated the sick fish from the others. I guell I will have to see how she is tomorrow

Some say dropsy is contagious and some don't but it's best to issolate the fish just in case,if you have caught it in the early stages the fish stands a chance, you will need antibiotic treatment.
