I have been observing one of my clown loachs over the last week or so and have noticed that it appears to be loosing weight, and also appears to have slightly inflamed gills and a loss in appetite

I have heard that clown loaches are suscepible to 'skinny disease', does anyone know if this is what is wrong and what the best treatment is?

Any help is much appreciated

Cheers

Phil

Yes they are but don't no much about it, what are your test results with having the red gills.

What are the water readings????What else is in the tank??? Usally with loaches they can easy get stressed and cause loss of appetite, is there any tankmates??

ok, I am gonna carry out some water readings, i will post them later, in the mean time here is a list of the contents of my tank:

5 x Silver Mollies
1 x Guppy
5 x cherry barbs
4 x neon tetras
3 x black phantom tetras
3 x clown loaches
2 x Bristle-nosed Catfish
1 x upside-down catfish
4 x gourami's
1 x albino rainbow shark

Am i right in thinking that the above mentioned fish would need at least a 150g tank? Considering the size Clown Loaches can grow to they need a lot of space or stress sets in resulting in apetite loss... dull colouration etc etc!???
