What kind of goldfish is hardy other than feeder goldfish? And how to identify their gender?

Single tail goldfish (comets, common goldfish & shubunkins) are hardier than double tail goldfish (fantails, orandas, etc). The goldfish with a short round fat body are weakest because their internal organs have been squashed up and the body has been shortened. This makes it hard for the fish to swim and move about, and also harder to digest food because their intestine is so squished up.

Single tailed goldfish are still normal shaped and their body's haven't been squished up and they do better, live longer and have fewer health issues.

------------------------
When goldfish are mature (more than 12 months old) the female fish get fatter and the males are slimmer. Males will develop small white spots on the gill covers and edge of the pectoral (side) fins. However, the males will only produce the white spots after they have spent several months in cold water, and then the temperature increases to 20C+. If male goldfish are kept in warm water all the time they don't normally show the white spots.

To breed goldfish, keep them in unheated / coldwater ponds or tanks for several months and then increase the temperature over a few weeks. The fish will come into breeding condition and will spawn in the tank or pond they are in.

If you want to breed 2 specific fish, then keep as above. Once they come into breeding condition separate them for a week and then put them together in a pond or large tank. They will usually breed within a few days of going into the tank.

Up ti what temperature they can stand?

If the fish are kept in cool water for a few months, they will breed when the temperature gets up to 20C or more. And they will breed every few weeks for a few months when the temperature is above 20C.

Goldfish will live in water up to 30C.
