My corries laid eggs about a week ago. I moved them into one of those floating fry cages for livebearers next to filter and heater with large airstone below so they have lots of air. The eggs tuned from pale cream to grey brown but show no sign of hatching yet. How long do they take...or are they infertile?

Hi fishnovice :)

Infertile eggs do not usually last this long. They will usually turn white and fuzzy with fungus within a day or so. Development of the eggs tends to vary with temperature of the water with a faster hatching taking place in warmer water and slower hatching happening in cool water. Three or four days is usually about what I expect in water around 72 F., although this can vary according to species.

I would wait a while longer, even though it has been a long while since they were spawned. TBH, I would have probably already stuck my finger in the water and felt one to see if it was still firm.

all of my eggs have hatched within 3-4 days, any not hatched after this time didnt make it....
