How long can my comet goldfish live in a 10 gallon tank?

hello all, I just joined this forum because I had a stocking question. I just moved to Hawai‘i and all my big tanks are in storage, however, I have a 10 gallon tank with a comet goldfish and 3 random cichlid fingerling. I know this is obviously waaaaay overstocked, however, how long will this do until I get my bigger tanks?

I think it depends on your filtration. Why dont you buy a large plastic storage container type, or large kiddie pool to use temporarily instead

I agree with the post above. It will be much harder to maintain a ten gallon tank with a big fish. It will be easier and better for the fish if you just get a bin or kiddie pool and put him in there. If your only going to have him in a 10 gallon for a few days then it should be fine.

I have the Comet away to someone with a pond, it will be much happier, now my 10 gallon is just a small community tank
