I purchased a small box of AMMO-carb today and I put it in my new tank that has been cycling for 3 weeks. (nitrites are at 10.0ppm with 1.5ppm ammonia  ) I was wondering, If i took that filter (now that it has something to get rid of ammonia) and put it in my old tank, and took the old filter and put it in the new tank, would that cause the cycle to hurry and finish, or cause more danger than good for my fish?

I wouldn't mess with it. Also ammocarb may harm bio filters I am not really clear on this. But if it absorbs the ammonia then the bacteria might starve. I'd stick with activated carbon and a bio filter. Don't fool with your filters it's close to being done.

those ammo absorbing media are pretty much useless... they might absorb a tiny bit of ammonia but not much more. they will only serve as a bacteria hosting surface.

Most of my filters (aquaclears) contain 2 sponges and 1 pouch of Bio-Max. I fell the sponges really clear up the water and host lots of bacteria.
