HELP!!! green stuff spreading like mad

help i got this green stuff spreading like mad in ma tank....i have to give ma tank a really good clean out every two week to make it look nice but the next day it is already starting to grow......what can i do?....i got a sand/gravel botten......PLZ HELP!!!

Is it a green slimy coating on the inside walls and/or decor? That sounds like algae to me, not serious but certainly can be annoying.

Algae out of control, how long do you have the tank light on, and is it in direct sunlight the tank, maybe think of getting some algae eaters to help keep the tank free of algae.

Thanks for the link Wilder ... I have the diatoms growing now ... they look cool under the microscope so don't mind having some around .. the tank is in it's 6 th week the diatoms came in around week 4 and spreading ... mostly at high levels close to the light .. yep and it's a low light tank... near a windo on the shade side of the house.
