Looking brighter.... now for the plants! I didnā€™t care too much for the ones at our local pet store today so Iā€™m gonna look around some more!

Also this light I purchased has color options....it came with a blue.....itā€™s a very dim blue....should I use that at night or just shut them all off?

Blue lights (not ultraviolet) are usually dusk or night lights. Have the blue come on just before the normal white light goes out and that will let the fish go from bright white to dull blue. Then wait an hour or so before turning the lights off completely.

They do need a period of complete darkness. I have mine set so the blue light comes on 30 mins before the main light and stays on for 30 mins after it goes out. That way the fish get a more gradual transition between night and day (and it looks cool)

It does look super cool!!! I need a timer! None of my lights came with one! Thanks guys!
