gouramis and surface current?

Is it true that gouramis dislike a lot of movement of the water surface? If so...how much is too much?

I've somehow got the impression that they don't like it but I'm not sure. I don't want to get a gourami if it will be unhappy in my tank.

They're similar to the betta but they do enjoy the current a bit more it seems. You can just adjust it to suit him can't ya? If it seems to be too strong, set a plant in front of it to break the current
