My friend has a goldfish in pond. And he found his one of goldfish floating on his side. Physically he looks fine. Its not look like bloating. What could be the cause of illness and how to cure him?
I advised him to put him in seperate tank for few days with constant temperature. Is it ok to feed him boiled pea?

Check the water quality in the pond for ammonia, nitrite, nitrate and pH.

Make sure the pond gets regular water changes using dechlorinated water.

Does the fish swim down and float back up when disturbed?
If yes it could have a lot of air in its digestive tract caused by ingesting air when feeding or eating too much dry pellet food. It can also be caused by a damaged or malfunctioning swim bladder.

If you have to handle or move the fish, scoop it up in a bucket of water (rather than using a net) so you don't put pressure on its internal organs.

Put the fish into a shallow container with about 6-8 inches of water in. Keep it out of direct sunlight and away from normal lights. You don't want a light above it. Just have normal room light.

You can feed it boiled peas that have had the skin removed and been crushed up. You can also use any aquarium plants that have been cut up into small pieces.

Do not feed the fish any dry food for a week and see if it fixes the problem. If it doesn't, then the issue is most likely a swim bladder problem and there is not much you can do about it.
