Filters

The 2217 has a decades long proven track record. Then again, my sister in law had a brand new Volvo, maxxed out options, that dropped the tranny after two weeks, while my beat up 17 year old Ford truck, at half the price, is still running.

It means you can get the top of the line with anything mechanical, which filters are, and get a lemon. You can also buy a midgrade product, pound it half to death, and it keeps going.

Eheim is top of the line, but as with anything, you will get the occasional lemon. Fluvals are more of a midgrade product, I'm sure there are and will be Fluvals that will take a licking & keep on ticking.

General consensus is that Eheim makes a better product than Fluval.
