External filter

Hi,
I just bought a Vision 180 and was in a local fish shop at the weekend and the guy there told me I needed to buy an external filter for it. Is the filter that comes with the tank not sufficient? I haven't kept fish since I was a teenager (about 15 years ago) so any advice would be much appreciated..

Hi, If I'm right in thinking it's a Jewel Vision 180 then the internal filter that came with it will be fine. A lot of people don't really rate it as a great filter and some do add an external. I think the guy was just trying to part you and your hard earned.

The filter on the Juwel is fine as long as you dont overstock your tank Also needs to be cleaned once a month to keep it running smoothly.

If it was me Id buy a bigger filter, but I like to overstock so...
