but do they all reach the same size
is that the age
:dunno:

I believe that the "dwarf size" is sort of relative to the "regular size"

For example, dwarf Gouramis should get to about 2" whereas other varieties can get much much larger. If a variety has been bred to stay smaller than the original variety then its called a dwarf.

As for the small/large/ex-large noted on the petstore labels... IME it refers to how far grown they currently are and does not indicate their full grown size. "Small" clown loaches are sold at my LFS at the size of 1-2" but then the label indicates they will grow to be 12" or so.

Hope that helps at all

:D

yep dwarfs are smaller than standars
like dwarf danio (danio nigrofasciatus)
which grow to 1.5" / 3.7 cm
compaired with Zebra danio (danio rerio)
which grow to 2.36" / 6cm
then you have giant danio (devario aequipinnatus)
which grow to 6" / 15.2cm

HTH

I think you mean dwarf. dwarf means smaller and a dwarf cory would be a small then a regular cory would get.

dwarf cory normally refers to a specific species of corry...
Namely Corydoras pygmaeus

Pygmy Cory :)
