do plants with no roots gain roots?

i have just bought and planted some random plants for LFS, they said they shud grow roots and anchor in the gravel.. i just want to see what you guys think??

Each plant is different. You'll have to figure out which one it is.

ive bought plants and my fish have ragged them to peices and they seem to grow there roots back if you bury them in the gravel.

i think most plants do gain roots, well..at least based on my experience. When I trim my plants and stick the branches into the gravel, they start sprouting their own roots.. maybe it's just my plants ... i have no clue about others
