Can Snails Mess Up A Fishless Cycle?

Ah thank you, that's really clear advice. I suppose the online cycling guides must vary depending on their age and location (here in London the water is pretty hard).
 
Planting the tank around the same time as stocking (with one fish) was the plan. Hopefully that will mop up nitrate as there is some in the tap water I believe. So much algae in there right now.
 
 
EDIT - if you're looking to offload lots of common snails, I can take them off your hand as I have assassin snails that would be happy to have a feast on them

If you are in Australia send them to me i will pay postage, I have 5 Clown Loaches and 12 Kuhli Loaches that are hungry and happily accept all snails, I even clean out LFS tanks for free to get " Pest " snails.
